Does your company have a Web log, or blog? (Just a small percentage of companies do.) Should it have one? How about a corporate policy on blogging for employees? Do you respond to blogs?
Suddenly, blogging has become the communications topic of the day throughout the corporate world. The Executives’ Club of Chicago held a panel discussion recently, sponsored by its Communications Committee, that explored the current blogging boom as well as those specific questions above. Ketchum found the discussion so timely and informative that, thanks to The Executives’ Club of Chicago, we present it to you as an extra edition of Perspectives, our online communications publication.
Ketchum Partner Paul Rand, our global chief development and innovation officer and co-founder of our Ketchum Personalized Media program, served as moderator of the panel, that also included the following:- • Jon Iwata , senior vice president, communications, IBM Corp.
• Carole Brown, chairman, Chicago Transit Authority, author of her own blog
• David Weick, senior vice president, information services, and chief information officer, McDonald’s Corp.
• Stephen Baker, senior writer, BusinessWeek, and co-author of the Blogspotting.net blog
